Le LAV-25 est un véhicule blindé à 8 roues motrices, caractérisé par une bonne capacité amphibie, utilisé depuis le début des années 1980 par le Corps des Marines pour des activités de reconnaissance et de soutien d'infanterie. Il entre en service en 1983 et participe activement aux opérations « Desert Storm » (1991) « Restore Hope » (1993), « Enduring Freedom » (2001) et « Operation Iraqi Freedom » (2003). Équipé d'un moteur diesel, qui permet au VBL d'atteindre les 100 km/h, et d'un système de suspension à roues indépendantes, ce qui le rend idéal pour une utilisation « tout-terrain », il a été développé et construit en de nombreuses versions. La version antichar est équipée du Emerson T.U.A. (Tow-Under-Armor) 901A1, un système de missile armé de missiles guidés antichars TOW-2, installé dans une tourelle rotative et équipé de systèmes d'identification thermique et visuelle des cibles. Conçue pour fonctionner dans les unités de reconnaissance des Marines, la version antichar est capable de fournir une capacité de contraste contre les chars de combat ennemis les plus puissants.

The LAV-25 is an 8-wheel drive armored vehicle, characterized by good amphibious capacity, used since the early 1980s by the Marine Corps for reconnaissance and infantry support activities.
